El Centro Municipal de Cultura de Castellón plans to open an exhibition of paintings and photography produced by the City of Castellón and coordinated by the departments of the Plan for Equal Opportunity, the Department of Culture and FRIENDS. A total of 13 women artists have joined to demand his job with the role, always anonymous, the muses in art history. The opening of the exhibition entitled 'Naked Immortals' will take place on Thursday 4 to 20:00 pm with the celebration of International Women's Day 2010.

The theoretical foundation of the show is to expose the active role of women as muses. "When I think about women and art history, I come to mind images of sensual Venus Danaes, Eves and others 'majas naked' as part of the cultural imagination. We know the authors of the pictures, but in rare cases, who was the model who has wowed us over the years, "reads the introduction to the catalog.

The names of the participating artists are Mary Griñó, Tere Colome, Agustina Ortega, Sara Lloret, Mari Carmen López Olivares, Maria Olmeda, Mari Carmen Aldás, Rosana Asensio, Pilar Edo Aldás Heloise, Maria Loredana Florea, Ana Ruiz Nisipeanu and Doralba. All have elaborate on their imaginary to pay tribute to the muses that inspired the great works of art.

Mary Griñó work painting and humor. Tere Colome merged figuration and abstraction in a work very mater. Agustina Ortega prefers inspired surrealism. Formed in the Faculty of Fine Arts, Sara Lloret brushes combines the world of theater. Lopez Olivares ventures into a portrait in which he praises the art, life and love. The multifaceted Maria Olmeda demonstrate their artistic and human baggage. Mari Carmen will Aldás tenderness and candor. Rosana Asensio, tireless creator, is a fireproof artist in the local landscape. Pilar Edo, one of the most vindictive of the group use its monotype. Heloise Aldás, another activist, expresses through photographic images of feelings. Loredana Maria likes to explore the possibilities that gives the computer applied to artistic creation. Nisipeanu Ana's work inspires tenderness, love and peace. And finally, Doralba Ruiz, sculptor and painter specializing in ceramics.

The City of La Plana Castellón invites all to attend the opening ceremony to be held on Thursday 4 March at 20.00. Note that the exhibition will run until Saturday 20 March. Visiting hours Municipal Cultural Center (Calle Antonio Maura, 4) are Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 14.00 and from 17.00 to 21.00, Saturday afternoon and closed to the public holidays.


ABOUT NAKED ON IMMORTAL

When I think about women and art history, I come to mind images of sensual Venus Danaes, Dianas, Eves and other "bare pestles, which are part of the cultural imagination. We know the authors of the paintings, but in very few cases, who was the model that has seduced over the years.

Sadly this has been the main contribution of women to art, the decorative role of muse (without which there is supposedly inspiration). The Muses are those to whom we dedicate this exhibition, inviting you to explore these NAKED IMMORTAL, women putting aside modesty, inspired great works of art.

In a cultural universe dominated by men until almost the present day, there were few women who were able to develop their artistic talents outside the home, fortunately in this part of the world gradually this is changing and we can decide if we want to be muses or be creative or, why not?, both, and how we decide, we have gathered 13 artists motivated by a story written by Rosario Raro, we decided to pay homage to the nude model and available for all the women.
