As defined in the introduction the book is "a handbook of mathematical art, where, through examples of paintings, sculpture, architecture, etc. .., we can perceive the influence of mathematics in these areas of Art. It is, therefore, a book of double relationship: the Art of Mathematics and vice versa, so that it serves the mathematician or math teachers to learn the art and, here with humor must be said that Vincent Meavilla is not as generous the entire community of artists, "some artists" to know the role of Mathematics in Art.

The book is divided into nine chapters, the first eight are developed by V. Meavilla and in the ninth, has received the collaboration of mathematicians and artists familiar with both fields, and Capi Corrales, Antonio Perez and others. In the first chapter focuses on the numbers, the spelling and use in artwork. Stresses in this chapter the examples of the work of Italian Tobia Rava. In the second chapter, entitled Demos Chromatic, use images to geometric theorem proving numerical and geometric (Pythagoras, Viviani, etc)

Equilateral triangles, pentagon, hexagon, golden rectangle, etc. have always been reasons for different parts of works of art (mosaics, sculptures, logos, plants churches, etc.). In the third chapter, entitled "Art polygonal". Will show us different examples of relationship of these parks and art of small or large. The move into space by configuring polygons, polyhedra leads, logically, we will carry especially sculpture and architecture. This is where emerges a strong figure of the cube, present in the work of many sculptors among which appears Agustin Ibarrola, and the pyramid. This is the content of chapter five.

In the middle is the fourth chapter covers "The Discreet Charm of the curves, where they play an important role great curves geometrical conics. Together with these other famous architectural curves: the catenary, spiral, etc., and a small nod to the sinusoids. In this plane geometry we, in the sixth, into space in the chapter entitled "rounded dimensional geometry, where the element appears perfect sphere. Beside her the cone and cylinder. This figure introduces us to what Vincent Meavilla called "plant geometry" through the tree and work of the Forest of Oma Ibarrola in Bizkaia. It also shows us the work of Norwegian Vigeland employing the cylinder to build their works of human compositions.

In the seventh chapter is given one of the most beautiful and interesting content in terms of geometry in sculpture and architecture: the ruled surfaces. From simple bench sheets of wood from a park to the largest covered building. It's nice, and just, that we present in Fig Vicente Felix Candela, a superb engineer, who developed his work in America and performed acts which were later model for other engineers and architects. This person and his work should be of most studies that popularized her figure.

"Miscellaneous" is the title given to the eighth chapter, which shows a series of topics difficult to place in the preceding chapters: Fibonacci sequence, Moebius strip, logos, stellate polyhedra, symbols, etc.. It is perhaps the most expository chapter of all. Almost supplementing the book with chapter nine, where are the collaborations of other mathematicians and artists: Capi Corrales, Carvajal, R. Perez, a. Perez Sanz, etc. This is to make a comment from a certain image that can be a spiral, mosaic rosette, sculpture, etc..

We say almost complete because we still reserve a final appendix, and a strictly mathematical, which gives an overview of the first systems of numeration, the Pythagorean theorem, the construction of the segment aureus, the polyhedra Archimedean and mosaics.

Some might throw in some pictures and lack well-known people and they are always associated with Math and Art: Dali, Durer and Escher but, as Vincent explains Meavilla, these authors and their works are under strict copyright that would make the book is too expensive and hinder their publication. This lack for nothing lowers the quality and importance of this book enjoyable and easy to read and always ready to return to him to consult.
